Janis Bunker, Senior Vice President and Trust Officer, entered banking in 1981 as a teller at Lawrence National Bank and Trust Company. Through the years, she worked her way up to become a bank officer who worked in the auditing, security, and operations areas. She began working for the trust department in 1985 where she gained experience in all aspects of trust administration: trust, estate, employee benefit, corporate/bond, and trust operations. 

In 1991, TCK took over the operation of the trust department of Lawrence National Bank. Eventually, this became a separate operation, and Janis supervised the opening of TCK’s independent service office in Lawrence in August, 1992. 

Janis likes the technical aspects of her job and has taken advantage of opportunities to further her education in trust work. She has completed the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University and earned the designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA).
