Kimberly Ufford, Executive Vice President and Cashier of TCK, is in charge of Fiduciary and Company Operations, Compliance, and Human Resources for all three TCK locations.
A native of Wichita, Kim attended The University of Kansas for three years, and subsequently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics at Wichita State University. She worked for two years as a bookkeeper and teller for a small Topeka commercial bank before joining the Trust Department of a Wichita bank in 1979. She worked in several areas within that department, including both personal and corporate trust operations, and in due course became Vice President in charge of trust operations. In 1990, Kim joined the newly chartered Trust Company of Kansas.
As director of fiduciary operations, Kim is responsible for management of the staff handling all manner of day-to-day activity affecting clients' accounts. This includes income collection, trade settlement, report production, and account reconciliation. As enhancements become available for the trust accounting software, she researches them, and implements those with the best potential to serve the needs of TCK clients. To keep up to date in the constantly changing trust accounting field, Kim frequently attends classes and conferences sponsored by SunGard Trust Systems in Charlotte, N.C.
In her other areas of responsibility, Kim reviews information for preparation of the company’s financial statements, coordinates audits and examinations with the company’s external auditors and state regulators, and prepares periodic call reports for the state banking department. She plays a key role in the hiring process and staffing decisions, and maintains all personnel records.
Kim serves on the Board of Music Theatre for Young People (MTYP), as the organization’s treasurer. Kim and her husband, Martin, are members of TCK’s Board of Directors.
