Steve English, Charirman & CEO of TCK, has worked on two sides of the trust business for over 37 years. Immediately after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1970, Steve accepted a position as a trust examiner with the Comptroller of the Currency. During the next six years, he worked his way up to become a Representative in Trusts, the highest field position available to trust examiners. In this capacity, he learned about trust law and worked with banks to make sure that they complied with federal regulations.

In 1976, Steve accepted a position as Vice President and Trust Officer for a bank headquartered in Arkansas City, Kansas. During his eleven years at that bank, Steve established the trust department and watched it grow to $30 million in assets. Steve then moved to a larger bank in Wichita where he headed a trust department that managed approximately $200 million in assets.

In 1989, when the state laws in Kansas changed to allow the formation of independent trust companies, Steve left the bank and spent the next several months setting up TCK, the first non-depository trust company in Kansas. The company was officially chartered on May 21, 1990, and has since grown to manage over $600 million in assets with oversight responsibility for 27 people.

Steve currently sits on the Executive Committee & Board of Quivira Council for the Boy Scouts, Music Theatre of Wichita Board of Directors, an Elder on the Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Arkansas City and most recently was appointed to a three year term on the Wichita State University College of Fine Arts Advisory Board.
