Mike joined TCK in 2009 as Vice President and Trust Officer. Mike received a B.A. in Mathematics from Wichita State University and a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. He engaged in private practice for 3 years with the law firm of Branine, Chalfant, & Hill, Hutchinson, Kansas, prior to joining Hutchinson’s First National Bank Trust Department in 2003. He successfully completed, with honors: the School of Banking Trust & Financial Services, Advanced Trust School, and Cannon Financial Institute Personal Trust I, II, and III. Mike also earned the designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (C.T.F.A.) from the Institute of Certified Bankers. The C.T.F.A. designation is one of the highest certifications available in the trust industry. Mike’s experience includes personal trust administration, estate and investment planning and management, and retirement account administration. TCK President, Martha Linsner, commented on his addition, “We welcome Mike Smith and his clients into the TCK family and we are excited about the opportunity to expand TCK's presence in the Hutchinson market.” Mike is quite active in the Hutchinson community, having served on a number of local boards and associations. He served the Hutchinson community as President of Hutchinson Health Care Services, Inc., as President of the Hutchinson Symphony Association Board of Directors, as a member of the Hutchinson Advisory Council Board of Directors for Kansas Legal Services, as a member of the Hutchinson Community College Endowment Advisory Board, and as a member of the United Way Board of Directors and campaign cabinet. He is a member of the Reno County, Kansas, and American Bar Associations. |
